Annual Results: Another record year
4 th Quarter Results
Tata Sponge Iron Limited has recorded a 37% growth in its net sales at Rs.73 crore for the fourth quarter ended 31st March 2005, compared to Rs.53 crore for the same period during the previous year. The growth in sales helped the company to post a Profit Before Taxes (PBT) of Rs.24 crore, which is 48% higher compared to the same period during the previous year. Similarly, Profit After Taxes (PAT) at Rs.16 crore is 57% higher compared to the corresponding period during the previous year.
Annual Results
With a good financial performance during the first quarter, there has been a remarkable improvement in all major indices for the year ended 31st March ‘05. The company has accumulated a PBT of Rs. 95 crore for the financial year 2004-05, which is 79% higher than the previous year's figure of Rs.53 crore. The Earnings Per Share (EPS) at Rs. 39.54 has also registered a significant increase over the previous year at Rs. 22.31 per share. Encouraged by the superior performance, the Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of 70% for the year, up from 50% for the previous year.
