Gold Greentech Environment Excellence Award, 2003
Tata Sponge Iron Limited (TSIL), considered as the benchmark on environment management in the DRI sector, has many laurels in its credit to prove its merit in this field. To add to various recognitions received by the company for its consist endeavor in further improving the environment, the company was once again selected by the Greentech Foundation, Delhi to receive the Gold GreenTech Environment Excellence Award (GEEA) for the year 2003. GEEA is considered as one of the most prestigious awards in the field of environment.
The Award was received by Mr. D. K. Mohanty, Sr Divisional Manager (PS & Environment) during the awards ceremony held at Hyderabad in November, 2004. Incidentally, TSIL is the only company in the sponge iron sector to have received this award, besides having received other recognitions viz. ISO-14001 and TERI Environment Award.
