Among the Top 25 Companies Practicing Good Corporate Governance
ICSI recognises Tata Sponge as one of the Top 25 Companies Practicing Good Corporate Governance for 2004-05
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) bestows the ICSI National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance every year to the Best-Governed Companies in India. The winners are selected from the top 25 eligible companies in India. For the fifth consecutive year, ICSI presented these Awards to the shortlisted companies from among the Indian corporates on January 13, 2006, at Mumbai.
25 companies were short listed from a list of 5,000 odd eligible companies. The house of Tatas have always set the benchmark for good corporate governance and citizenship. It is a matter of pride that Tata Sponge Iron Limited was one of these 25 companies shortlisted by ICSI for this recoginition, consecutively for the third year. This is certainly one of the rare achievements. Tata Sponge dedicates this distinction to all its stakeholders who have reposed their confidence on the company all these years.
