Rs 6 Crs savings thru' TOP
TOP initiatives hand Tata Sponge a whopping Rs. 6 crore as savings
TOP (Total Operating Performance) is a structured, time bound and team based programme with top management’s support and a bottom-up approach. The course carefully channels the knowledge and experiences of employees to generate and implement ideas that improve operations considerably.
At Tata Sponge, two waves under TOP were implemented, in the areas of Operations & Maintenance (Wave-I) and Services (Wave-II). A total of 86 core ideas were generated out of which 71 ideas were approved for implementation, most of which have since been implemented to the benefit of the company. A total savings of Rs.650 lakh has since been accrued and another crore of rupees is expected to be contributed by TOP, after the successful implementation of remaining ideas.
