As a part of ongoing Affirmative Action initiatives supporting Employment, Employability & Entrepreneurship of local youth, Tata Sponge recently donated two power tillers to local Self Help Groups.

In a formal ceremony organized at the Administrative Building, Tata Sponge, members of Maa Basanti Farming Cooperative Agency, Lahanda village (Birikala GP) & Kissan Self Help Group, Narayanpur village (Anseikala GP) were presented with one power tiller each, by the Managing Director, Mr Suresh Thawani.

In presence of village representatives, company employees & members of print & electronic media, Mr Thawani elucidated on various Affirmative Action initiatives undertaken by the company in support of the SC/ST community. He expressed hope that the power tillers would be instrumental in bringing prosperity to village farmers, with help from the two SHGs. Also present during the event were members of the CSR team, including Col (Retd) PK Ray, Chief (Corporate Affairs), Mr DD Mohanty, Head (CS) & Mr T Palei, Sr Officer (RD), including several other guests..
