Kobe Steel, Essar ink partnership pact

Kobe Steel and Essar Steel (Q,N,C,F)* have agreed to enter a comprehensive business partnership, reports Economic Times.

The two firms` partnership could include the establishment of a joint venture (JV) in India. Earlier this year, Essar tried to buy US steelmaker Esmark but withdrew the bid.

Essar Steel is an integrated steel producer with end-to-end control of all operations related to steel making.
