Mishap at Shyam DRI: Contract worker killed

Tension prevailed on the premises of Shyam DRI near Rengali here after a contractual labourer, Ramkrupal Mahato (45) of Sarchia village in Muzzafarpur, Bihar, died inside the sponge iron plant this afternoon.

As per reports, the incident occurred while Mahato was working on the furnace floor and suddenly a magnetic crane, passing over the furnace floor, fell on him killing him on the spot. However, the cause of detachment of the magnetic crane is yet to be ascertained.
