Sponge Conferred GreenTech Environment Gold Award 2009

Tata Sponge has come a long way earning laurels from
reputed organizations, thanks to its resolute belief
that conservation of Mother Nature must go hand in hand
with contribution in nation building. In its course of
protecting environment, it has been earned laurels from
institutions of national & international fame. One such
prestigious organization is GreenTech, which recently
awarded the GreenTech Environment Excellence Gold Award
to Tata Sponge for the year 2009. |

In a formal ceremony held on 10th October 2009 organized
at Hotel Leela Kempinski, Kovalam, Kerala, the award was
presented to the Managing Director Mr Suresh Thawani
jointly by Mr Kamleshwar Sharan, President, Greentech
Foundation and Hon'ble Mr. Nick Herbert, MP & Shadow
Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural
Affairs, London, United Kingdom. Among 12 strong
applicants in the category, Tata Sponge was adjudged
winner in the Metal & Mining Category for its
outstanding achievement in Environment Management. |
